The Kindness Creek Adventure
Teddy and Muddy Paws follow their Adventure Map to Kindness Creek. The morning sun sparkles across the water. Dragonflies dance above the reeds. Wildflowers sway in the gentle breeze. A little wooden bridge stretches across the creek.
Their friend, Bubbles the Beaver, is hard at work clearing sticks and branches from the water. “Good morning!” calls Muddy Paws. Bubbles smiles. “The rain washed branches everywhere. I’m trying to clear the creek so everyone can cross safely.” “We’ll help!” says Teddy.
The three friends begin picking up sticks. They gather leaves. They move little rocks. Every little job makes the creek a little cleaner.
Then Teddy notices something tucked beneath a fallen branch. “Wait…” He carefully lifts the branch. Underneath is a soft brown blanket. It looks old. Its edges are worn. Its corners are gently frayed. Someone has hugged this blanket thousands of times.
Teddy carefully picks it up. “It’s so soft,” he whispers. Muddy Paws gently brushes away the leaves. “I think someone really loves this.” Bubbles looks around the creek. “I haven’t seen anyone nearby.”
Teddy folds the blanket carefully. “We don’t know your name…” He smiles. “…but until we find your family, I think we’ll call you Brown Blanky.” Muddy Paws smiles. “I like that.”
Teddy hugs Brown Blanky for just a second. Then he gently places it inside their Adventure Pack. “We’ll keep you safe until we find your home.”
What should Teddy and Muddy Paws do?
You chose to leave Brown Blanky. Teddy gently lays the blanket beside the creek. “I hope someone finds it.” The friends continue helping Bubbles.
A little while later… Dark clouds drift across the sky. A cool breeze begins to blow. Brown Blanky tumbles across the grass. “Oh no!” cries Teddy. The blanket rolls closer and closer to the water.
Muddy Paws quickly runs after it. Just before it reaches the creek… he catches it. He hugs it close. “I think kindness means taking care of something until we can return it.” Teddy nods. “I think you’re right.”
He carefully folds Brown Blanky. “We may not know who loves this blanket… but someone does.” Together they place Brown Blanky inside the Adventure Pack. “We’ll help you find your family.”
Sometimes kindness begins by taking care of something precious that belongs to someone else.
You chose to protect Brown Blanky! Teddy carefully zips the Adventure Pack closed. “We’ll take good care of you.”
The friends continue clearing the creek. Soon Mrs. Turtle safely crosses the bridge. A family of ducks waddles across. Tiny field mice scamper over the bridge without getting wet. Bubbles laughs. “Look how many friends can cross now!”
Teddy smiles. “We only moved one stick at a time.” “And we only picked up one blanket,” says Muddy Paws. “But little acts of kindness can help lots of friends.”
As the sun begins to set, Teddy gently pats the Adventure Pack. “Don’t worry, Brown Blanky. We’ll help you find your family.” Brown Blanky rests safely inside. Somewhere… someone is hoping it will come home.
Teddy smiles as he looks at the Adventure Pack. “One small act of kindness may seem little today…” Muddy Paws finishes the thought. “…but it might become someone’s biggest blessing tomorrow.”
The creek sparkles in the evening light. Brown Blanky rests safely inside the Adventure Pack… waiting for the next adventure.
One Small Kindness, One Big Difference.
In Kindness Creek, Teddy and Muddy Paws learned that one small act of kindness can make a very big difference — and that kindness often begins by caring for something precious until it can go home. The Gratitude Grove is glowing ahead, where there is always something to be thankful for.
